A thermostatic balancing valve is utilised in hot water circulation systems. By controlling the flow within the system according to temperature, the valve maintains the system's balance. As the temperature rises to its set point, the valve will restrict the flow; however, at 70 °C, a bypass opens, allowing a higher flow rate for disinfection purposes.

The valve which is manufactured by Reliance Valves features thermal balancing for maintaining optimal temperatures and also has easy temperature adjustment. It also has a tamper-proof cap as well as a built-in disinfection function to protect against Legionella.
